This is the second year that we worked with the students on their Eco Project in the 8th grade English class.

In my opinion, education is one of the best ways to raise awareness. Due to the fact that climate change is one of the major issues that we are dealing with today it seemed like an important choice.

The students learned a new vocabulary list, relevant to the subject. Learned about young activists, researched the web and chose a topic that interested them to do their project on.

In the next part, they wrote and explained about the difference between Global Warming and Climate Change. They described the topic / problem. Explained why it is harmful or an eco-problem. Gave an example of a place affected by their topic and explained the problem in detail. Which industries, companies and countries add to the problem? What should be done to solve the problem?

They were also asked to decide what they and their friends could do to help raise awareness and be active. Write about their thoughts and opinions and sum up with a conclusion.

In the last part of the project, they made their own poster with illustrations and bullets from their written assignment. We learned how to stand in front of the class and present a presentation. Things such as: know your audience when possible in order to speak in a language so that you can understood, eye contact, dress code, speaking load and clear, diction, knowledge, how to engage the audience, answer questions, self-confidence and the fact that it is natural to be excited and stressed before a presentation.

The students presented their projects in front of the class it was very enjoyable and we all learned many new things.
